Meet the team

Harbaksh Sidhu founded Core Separations in 2017 and has spent more than 25 years of his career in design, development, and manufacturing of equipment for supercritical and CO₂ technology.

As President and co-owner at Thar Instruments he over saw the largest manufacturer of lab to pilot scale supercritical fluid technologies in the world. Thar Instruments’ sold over one thousand systems for a wide range of applications with the primary market being the pharmaceutical industry. Holding five issued patents in areas of supercritical fluids he oversaw development of the entire product portfolio of SFE and SFC systems at Thar Instruments. Most of which are now part of Waters’ Purification and SFE product line.

Following the acquisition of Thar by the Waters Corporation Harbaksh became the General Manager of Waters Purification Business Operations and was the Program Director of the awarding winning UPC2 analytical platform.

Graduating with a PhD in chemistry from the University of Leeds, James has worked in a variety of chemical environments including chemical manufacturing under cGMP and ISO 9001 standards.

Moving into bio-renewable research in 2012, he helped develop several processes using supercritical fluids for processing several natural products.

While working with high-pressure extraction systems James developed his understanding of mechanical designs and became qualified to service, re-build and modify these high pressure systems.

In 2016 James moved to Scimed Ltd working in technical sales, where he used his knowledge to help his customers with supercritical solutions. Over the years James has worked with companies such as Waters and Seperex and has been involved in providing several unique solutions and designs.

In 2019 James became part of the development team establishing the PED certification for the new Core Extraction systems extending Core Separation into the European market.

Jeremy is an accomplished entrepreneur and technologist with over 16 years of experience in engineering and technology development. He was the Founder and CTO of Green Mill Supercritical where he successfully led the development and commercialization of supercritical fluid extraction technology for the cannabis industry.

Prior to that, Jeremy worked with our CEO, Harbaksh Sidhu, at Thar Instruments and Waters, where he gained extensive experience in the development of instrumentation and processes for supercritical fluids. With his deep knowledge and expertise in Supercritical Fluid Extraction, Jeremy will be a valuable addition to our team as we continue to expand our capabilities.
